Taken from this year's John Lewis Christmas Ad campaign Sam Fender releases his cover of The Rolling Stones classic You Can't Always Get What You Want.
Self-produced alongside his band mates, the song was recorded up in Newcastle and features the children’s choir from the John Spence Community High School in North Shields, where Sam was a former pupil, and brass from the Easington Colliery Band.
The single features Sam's 2020 cover of Lindisfarne’s Winter Song as a b-side, previously unreleased physically.

Sam Fender and Polydor Records will be donating 100% of the Net Profits* received from sales in the UK of the 7” single “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” sold via the official Sam Fender online store to Teenage Cancer Trust (registered charity numbers 1062559 (England & Wales) and SC039757 (Scotland).
*Net Profits means all amounts received by Polydor Records from the sale of the CD and 7” single, less VAT and other applicable sales taxes, refunds and returns, manufacturing costs, distribution and fulfilment costs, payment processing fees, mechanical royalties, and any other direct third-party costs properly attributable to the manufacture, distribution and sale of the products.
